YOSOATYD Chapter 4: Alone Together
Egg followed Chadopher back to his house. It was a white house, with red flowers in window boxes; it was instantly appealing.
“I moved here with my mom,” Chadopher commented as he unlocked his front door. “I didn’t really want to switch schools my last year of high school, but my dad decided to go back to school to get a degree in Puppet Arts, and she didn’t want me living alone.” Chadopher opened the door and gestured her in. Chadopher closed the door behind her. “I’ll start on lunch!” He smiled and bounded off in what she supposed was the direction of the kitchen. Egg glanced around the room. It was very well kept. Pictures hung on the walls, and a rug decorated the entryway. She saw pictures of baby Chadopher, and pictures of him with his arm around a pretty blonde girl. She felt jealous instantly and frowned. It wasn’t justified for her to feel jealous. It wasn’t like she was together with Chadopher; she’d just met him! She wandered into the kitchen, where Chadopher was busying himself grilling sandwiches. Egg watched in amazement as his biceps flexed and he flipped a sandwich into the air.
“Order up,” he winked and handed her a plate. They both sat down at the island in his kitchen. “So, you know a bit about me, but I don’t know anything about you. I mean, other than the obvious,” he remarked.
“The obvious?” She questioned?
“Well, that you’re gorgeous.” He brushed a hair back from her head. “And intriguing…” Egg blushed bright crimson. Chadopher leaned back away from her again, and Egg let out a breath she didn’t know she’d been holding. “Anyways!” He pushed back from the table, taking his and her plates and setting them in the sink. “Wanna tour of the place?”
“Su-sure,” she stood up to follow him. He led her through the living room, dining room, and a greenroom that was filled with flowering plants. He took a small pink flower and tucked it in her hair. Next, he led her up the stairs. “This is my mom’s room, the guest room, and this is my room…” He paused. “I really should tell you something. He leaned into her. “My mom… isn’t home. We’re alone.”
Egg’s heart pounded. She felt a shock of electricity go through her as he brushed her hair back again.
“And there’s something else you should know,” he whispered. His hand gripped the door knob. “I’m a huge… Weeb.” He threw the door open to reveal anime posters, bedspreads and pillows, and figurines. His whole room was filled with anime themed items. Egg barely had time to register this before her vision blurred and she hit the floor. Anime figurines danced across her vision before fading into black.
