DRSS Students Open Up: Changing Your Profile Photo on Schoology Part 2
Not only are 11th grade students seeing the backlash of changing your profile photo on Schoology, 6th grade students are seeing the effects as well. 6th grade student, Amar Sambe, shares his experience.
In early January, Amar was exploring the new world of Schoology, trying to find out how to change his profile picture. When he had his cursor over his blank profile photo, he discovered that you could add a profile photo and was overjoyed. In fact, he sent an email to HALF of the 6th grade on how you can change your photo. However, after things got out of hand, people started posting inappropriate photos on there. For example a link to one of MrBeast’s worst introduction videos. A couple weeks later, Amar saw the consequences because another student had told all the teachers. When Ms. Paul saw it, he had to take it down. Amar tried to change his photo a few days later but to no avail.
Changing your profile photo on Schoology can be a mistake which snowballs into a bigger problem. Whether your profile photo is permanently Travis B. or your discovery resulted in half the 6th grade changing their photos, students at DRSS are figuring out why changing your profile photo on Schoology could be a mistake.
