Should Students be Watching T.V. on the Weekdays?

Every day, kids watch television, rather it is the newest show on Netflix or a debate. Some parents are strict about whether their children can watch T.V or not during the school week. But, in my opinion, watching T.V. is fine during the weekdays. It just depends on what you’re watching and how long you are watching it. Fatima Boumahchad, a senior at the Dayton Regional STEM School states, “It is okay for students to watch something that is academic related, if it is not than they shouldn’t watch it.” I agree with this; if someone is spending their afternoon watching something that will teach them something educational that may help them, that is great. So, watching the Flash isn’t the best choice but watching a debate, news channel, and/or educational video is fine to watch during the weekdays. In the end, students are allowed to watch television during the week; it just depends on what they are watching.
