Supergirl
Supergirl is a CW show that comes on every Monday night. The story is a slight twist on the regular plot of Superman. In this tale, Kara Zor-El was sent after her cousin, Kal-El (Superman), to protect him when Krypton exploded. However, she was lost in the Phantom Zone. In this zone, no time passes. However, by the time she crash landed on Earth, Kal-El had already landed on Earth and become Superman.
Once on Earth, Kara Zor-El became Kara Danvers, just another human being- with amazing superpowers of course. She ended up living with the Danvers, who had one daughter, Alex. Alex helped to teach her about Earth, and the two of them grew up very close. In addition to taking her in, the Danvers tried to help her blend in as well as they could, even creating a pair of lead lined glasses that blocked her x-ray vision.
However, even as Kara learned how to act like a normal human, she never forgot who she really was, or why she was sent to Earth. During the pilot episode of the series, Kara starts out the day at her regular job--intern to Cat Grant, who is the CEO of Catco and queen of all media. On Kara’s first day of work, she meets Winn Schott. As soon as Winn laid eyes on Kara, he instantly had a crush on her. In the pilot episode, she also meets James Olsen, a soon to be close friend of Kara’s and already close friend of Superman. It’s also during the pilot episode that she first reveals her powers, and herself, to National City and the rest of the world to save her sister and a plane full of other people.
That event marks the beginning of Supergirl, and the double life of Kara Zor-El. Throughout the season, love interests for multiple characters come and go, some more quickly than others. Both alien and non-alien threats are introduced, including the main antagonist, who in this case, is quite familiar to Supergirl. As the season progresses, Kara learns how to balance being a superhero and an ordinary human, with help coming from seemingly unlikely sources, such as her boss and fellow superhero the Flash, who makes a guest appearance in the 18th episode.
Towards the end of the first season, Kara must face the hardest challenge of her life: her own blood. Watch this show to find out what happens to Kara.
