Why Do People Put up Christmas Decorations So Early?
Every year, people seem to be putting up their Christmas decorations earlier and earlier. But why would people put them up before Thanksgiving?
One of the reasons I think they go up so early is because people cannot wait until Christmas. Imagine this feeling when someone says they have a surprise for you. You get really anxious and might try to coax out a clue about it. Putting up Christmas decorations may just be a person’s way of saying that they are really excited and cannot wait until Christmas.
But excitement might not be the only reason why they put Christmas decorations up. It could also be that the person might want to escape the cold when putting up outside decorations. This part of decorating can be really tedious and time consuming. Cold weather does not help the situation. So, people could be putting up their decorations early to escape from the cold.
Another theory of mine is because people want to escape the crowds. Usually if people wait until 2 weeks or less before Christmas, there are lots of people rushing to get decorations and presents. And then all the good decorations are gone and you are left with those crappy plastic ornaments that have a chubby little Santa on them that looks like a dog's chew toy. So, they go out and buy them earlier and put them up to beat the crowds. This prevents the stress that goes along with it.
These are just a few of my ideas as to why people put up their decorations early. Can you relate to any of these scenarios? Do you disagree with any of them? Do you agree with any of them? Do you have any other ideas? Leave a comment on the contact page to give your ideas and feedback on the matter.
