Changing Your Profile Photo on Schoology Could be a Mistake
Changing from Pilot to Schoology has now allowed us to change our profile photos, but many juniors, such as myself, are seeing the backlash of our actions. During the early months of 3rd quarter, a photo of an 11th grade student, Travis Benson, had been found on the STEM Photo Server from 6th grade. About 20 juniors thought it would be funny to make their profile photo Travis, permission granted. The photo started circulating around and soon teachers began to wonder, “Why is everyone’s profile photo Travis?” Ms. Chen, the 10th and 11th grade Chinese teacher, was very confused when she looked at Schoology because almost everyone in her 4th period class was Travis.
Oh no! Another dilemma. Mr. Slone changed the settings, so students were not able to change their profile photo. I was a victim of this event because I too had changed my profile photo. It’s actually quite funny, and I hope that everyone can see the humor in this situation. Maybe Mr. Slone changed the settings on Schoology as a joke on the juniors. Whatever the case may be, always remember to think before you act because your actions could be permanent.
