This Summer, the Galaxy Won’t Save Itself

Set the date for May 5, 2017, when Marvel’s newest movie, Guardians of the GalaxyVol. 2, blasts to theaters. Following the adventures of Peter Quill, also known as Star Lord, and his friends from the galaxy, “unravel the mystery of Quill’s true parentage.”

In the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, Peter Quill discovers new friendships with Gamora, the daughter of Thantos; Rocket, a mutated raccoon; Groot, a friendly giant who only says, “I am Groot;” and Drax a destroyer on a mission of vengeance.

As a young boy, Peter Quill’s mother died of cancer, and his father was nowhere to be found. The leader of the Ravagers, Yondu, picked up young Peter and was supposed to take him to his father but kept him as his own. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 follows Peter and his friends on a quest as they reveal his true parentage with Awesome Mixtape #2, full of even more 60s-80s pop music. Be sure to catch it in theaters May 5.
