What was the Past Like?

I often wonder what the past was like.

How did people live without technology?

The world is so consumed by these gadgets

Because it comes with many perks.

Access to information at faster speeds.

Connections made around the world.

Popularity that reaches outside of what you know.

But, wait, did you notice that the trees are changing?

The birds are singing, the wind is whistling, and the flowers are blooming,

Did you notice the girl sitting in the corner all alone?

Did you help her?

Or ask her how she was?

Did you notice the happiness in your friend’s voice, quickly fades away?

When they say, “I’m fine,” you thought their answer could be longer.

Did you have a long conversation today without your phone in your hand?

The connections to the outside world are starting to be made only online.

Catfishing and cyberbullying are common ways hate spreads.

If only the world was like the past,

We could care more about the people around us.

The connections we make could last longer,

And we notice the girl sitting alone.
